Safeguarding procedure for Resources
Get Real Sessions online resources are purchased by a school or organisation for use within their school or organisation only. The online Get Real Sessions lessons are led by a school teacher or professional, therefore Get Real Sessions staff would not be aware of any safeguarding concerns arising from a Get Real Session as they are not physically in the room.
When a school or organisation signs up with Get Real Sessions clear information about feedback is provided and schools and organisations are encouraged to provide feedback particularly around any safeguarding concerns that they have about any part of the sessions.
Any feedback of this nature will be taken very seriously and the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) will contact the school or organisation who had the concern. Once the concerns have been clarified Get Real Sessions will make any necessary changes across their resources to support and promote safeguarding for children and young people.
Safeguarding Procedures for in School and Organisation Teaching and Training
Before any school or organisational visits Get Real Sessions staff must request and read a copy of the schools safeguarding policy and procedure and make sure they are aware of how the school deals with safeguarding concerns and who the designated safeguarding lead is.
If a Get Real Sessions member of staff becomes aware of a safeguarding concern or issue they must pass this information onto the class teacher/ professional and/or the designated safeguarding lead (DSL). They must do this before they leave the school or organisation on that day.
Get Real Sessions will not keep any record of safeguarding concerns that happen whilst in schools as they have been passed onto the school to deal with.
The Get Real Sessions DSL will contact the school the following day to check that the information has been passed onto the schools DSL.
