I’m Becky Blackledge and I founded Get Real Sessions because I believe that every child in the UK should have high quality, age appropriate, accurate relationship and sex education (RSE) in school. Relationships are part of pretty much everything we do, so good RSE supports children and young people in every area of their life.
I love teaching relationships and sex education; keeping to the facts, answering questions honestly and giving students time to think about what they think and the choices they want to make.
I have worked with national organisations like Brook and the NSPCC and have taught in over 50 schools. I have also spoken to a lot of teachers and education professionals about their feelings and experiences around teaching RSE. The Get Real Sessions have been designed from these experiences and conversations, as well as a lot of very interesting reading around the subject!
