The Healthy Relationship Triangle
This animation explains the healthy relationship triangle and how we can use it to check the healthiness of our relationships.
How can 'The Healthy Relationship Triangle' help you?
Relationships happen in real life and The Healthy Relationship Triangle has been designed to help you think about your own real life relationships, to check how healthy they are.
Below are some ideas to use in your class or on your own to help with this.
Remember everyone, including you, deserves to be treated well and to have healthy relationships in their lives. And everyone should have the choice about the relationships they want to be in.
Create
- Create your own RTC logo to remind people to keep their relationships healthy.
- Write a song or rap, like the ones you hear on social media/ tiktok, to help people remember the importance of RTC in their relationships. You can even add some dance moves too!
- Draw a triangle and fill it with things that make a relationship healthy. Outside the triangle write the things that are not part of a healthy relationship.
- Create an advert or poster advertising RTC, what it is, why it's important and how it can help people?
Discuss
- How might you see Respect, Trust and Communication in a relationship? Think of 3 practical things - actions, behaviours, attitudes, words - that would show these important relationship qualities.
- What does a healthy disagreement between 2 people look like? What might they say/ not say? How might they behave towards each other? Remember RTC.
- How could someone end a relationship in a healthy way? Remember RTC and the importance of staying safe.
Act
- Write down 3 people or organisations that you would talk to if you were worried about a relationship in your life .
- If you are worried about a relationship in your life (online or face to face), take a minute now to decide who you are going to talk to about it and when you are going to talk to them.
- Relationships are 2 way. We can only take responsibility for our own behaviour. Think about a relationship in your own life and one thing you can do to make it more healthy. Start making that relationship more healthy today!
